Description eggbut snaffle bit:
An eggbut is a basic bit, in general a soft bit. The bit rings are oval and fixed to the mouthpiece, which gives a more direct reaction from the aid. The rubber bit guards are not needed. The bit is relatively stable in the horses mouth.
The eggbutt snaffle bit is very suitable for young horses and riders with a average hand.
Properties Single jointed mouthpiece:
Due to the breaking point of the single jointed mouthpiece the tongue will be more free than with a double jointed mouthpiece. A single jointed mouthpiece works mainly on the layers and the side of the tongue.
Blue steel properties: (sweet iron)
Bits made of blue steel are made of a mix of various materials, also called alloys. This gives a sweet taste. The mouthpiece of these bits have a blue or black & nbsp; colour. If the bit is used, the blue or black & nbsp; oxidise the layer, and then become orange / brown in color of the rust. This rust gives that sweet taste. A sweet taste promotes saliva formation and the assumption of the bit.
